MARUGOTO SHOKUDOU

Again...another night that craving for Japanese Cuisine. Lazy to travel too far, so we go the restaurant where near us.

This restaurant is a hiding gem at Ang Mo Kio, why I say this ? Because I don't think much people know about this place, Broadway Plaza at AMK. 

Most of the people go Ang Mo Kio usually just go AMK hub or Jubilee, even me that always go Ang Mo Kio also forget about that there is a place call Broadway Plaza.

Let's get to the point, this restaurant Morugoto Shokudou is just at the first floor of the plaza. You will saw it when you go to the main door.

The restaurant quite spacious, they got two big private room,can book in advance if you going to gather with a large group of friends. When we go was on Sunday around 8pm, but the restaurant only few of people. We love the environment there because is not much of people (no need queue), not noisy and the ambiance is good.

If you come on weekday there serve Shabu Shabu steamboat buffet (only Monday - Thursday). The day we go was Sunday I didn't try the steamboat. (Anyone go try can tell me is their food fresh and many choice of food ?)

 

 Yuzu Honey (Carafe)  

Yuzu Honey ($6.90) is the recommended drink from the waitress. When I taste it I told him, you won't scare because is not sour. Once he drink he keep saying this drink very nice because is not sour and not very sweet, this drink produce a pleasant smell. One of this bottle and at least pour 4 glasses, 2 of us not really can finish it but is a nice try.

                                      Takusen Chawanmushi ($6.50)  

Chawanmushi is not in the menu, is the waitress ask us want to try or not then we order. This restaurant chawanmushi is different from others because the sauce on top is a bit thick but not salty and "geli" quite special. Their also put in many ingredient, as you see on the top that is prawn, roe and mushroom. Bottom of the chawanmushi still got a big piece of chicken meat.

                                                    Morugoto Chirashi

Signature dish that we go Japanese Restaurant will order but this time change I eat this not him. Morugoto Chirashi ($20.90) come with a free dessert, bites and miso soup.  Is not expensive compare with others because it comes with 4 type of fish (each two pieces), one of squid (three piece), one octopus (two pieces), uni and roe. Below the ingredient, top of the rice still got seasoning (some kind of sesame). The seasoning add points to the rice, and the rice is soft enough not very dry.

 

Wafu Steak

We order a set meal Wafu Steak ($22.80) come with miso soup, dessert and garlic rice. This steak is nice, tender and soft. This come with a sauce but I don't like the sauce, it is nice just eat the original taste. The smell of meat is good, when you eat the meat you still feel juicy.

                                                         Garlic Rice

Set meal come with garlic rice. This garlic rice I fell so so only, but he say taste not bad. Why I say so so, the garlic taste is just outside the rice never go into the rice. So when you eat you just smell the garlic taste but in your mouth the rice is like normal white rice.

* OCBC Credit card holder got 10% discount in total bill.
